The Skeleton Key is the third instalment in the ‘Pandora English’ series—paranormal adventure stories interwoven with elements of mythology and populated with handsome men, ghosts, witches, vampires and a colourful array of undead folk. Our reluctant heroine is Pandora, an orphan who has come to live with her stylish but odd Great-Aunt Celia in New York City in Spektor, a foggy suburb of Manhattan which doesn’t show up on any map or GPS system. Working as an assistant to the editor at a fashion magazine, Pandora now lives in a creepy neo-gothic mansion where things regularly go bump at all hours of the day and night; and while she may want a bit of normal in her life, she is finding out that she is not as ordinary as she thought she was. Who built the mansion and why are certain parts of it off-limits? What is happening beneath the basement and what does the skeleton key unlock? With sufficient back story made available to readers in each book, the novels in this series also work as standalone titles. The series is a fun romp with some humorous swipes at the fashion and beauty industry. Suitable for YA and adult readers.
